About WVA

Constitution and Membership Rules

Membership is governed by the WVA’s valid constitutional provisions.

Constitution and Membership Rules

The WVA distinguishes formal constitutional membership from expressions of interest, participation in meetings, volunteering and cooperation on individual projects. An institution does not become a member merely by attending an event, appearing in an archive or discussing a potential partnership.

Eligibility

Formal qualifications must be determined from the currently valid constitution and applicable WVA decisions.

Application and approval

A prospective mission should be informed about the official process, its responsibilities and the authority making a membership decision.

Institutional autonomy

Affiliation must not imply transferring spiritual authority or internal governance to the WVA.

Public records

Member lists, legal documents and amendments should be presented only after their accuracy and permission to publish are confirmed.

The authoritative, current constitution and any adopted membership regulations must be checked by the responsible WVA representative before this page can provide binding eligibility criteria or a downloadable legal text.
