Old Restored Temple Gets Deities Donated

The deities of Sri Sri Gouranga Radha Vraja Mohan were donated to the Vrinda Kunja in Vrindavan. Originally installed in Santipura 200 years ago, the city where Advaita Acarya lived, these deities were taken to Vrindavan by a Brahmin, who worshipped them for the last 40 years. Desirous to enter the renounced order of life, the Brahmin was searching for someone to take over the worship of his deities. When he heard that members of Vrinda from the western countries had restored one of Vrindavan's old temples next to Gopesvara Mahadeva, he was very charmed. He visited and recognized that Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Giriraj Maharaj were the only deities present in the Vrinda Kunja Mandir. Then he offered the deities to Sripad B.V. Paramahamsa Maharaj, the Colombian Sannyasy who is leading the Vrinda Kunja Ashram. Happily the mercy was celebrated with a parade through Vrindavan, accompanied by many devotees as their Lordships were moving from their old temple into the new location.

How great was the happiness of all the devotees to see the deities who had personally chosen to came and give their mercy to them.

Note: The original deities of the temple had been moved to Tripura by the kings family. Vrinda Kunja was constructed by a follower of Srila Narottama das Thakur, the queen of Manipur. After Indian independents, former kings lost their kingdoms, and many could not maintain their temple properties. Thus Vrinda Kunja was abandoned for 20 Years until the Vrindavan Institute for Vaisnava Culture and Studies obtained the location and renovated it.
